Morgan Meighen Launches Smedley Special Opportunities Fund

TORONTO, Ontario -- Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited (“Morgan Meighen”) is proud to announce the launch of the Smedley Special Opportunities Fund (“SSOF”). An addition to the family of investment funds managed by Morgan Meighen, the SSOF is formulated to bring a distinct investment offering to Morgan Meighen’s current investment selection.

Michael A. Smedley, Morgan Meighen’s Chief Portfolio Officer will be principally responsible for the day-to-day management of the SSOF portfolio. The investment objective of the SSOF is to achieve superior long-term investment returns primarily through capital appreciation in a portfolio consisting of equity and equity–linked securities.

Units of the SSOF are offered on a private placement basis in reliance on certain exemptions from the prospectus requirements available under the securities laws of various provinces.
